Summary

Mother and daughter, both champion riders—but only one can make Olympic history。 James Patterson’s first book with hall-of-fame sportswriter Mike Lupica。

When the buzzer sounds, twenty-one-year-old Becky McCabe takes one last look around。 What she’s feeling right now is why riders do this。 Young or old。 Man or woman。 Mother or daughter。

The toughest combination comes early, a tight one, hardly any time to react after the first jump。

Just like that they’re into it。 Big-time。 Horse and rider take a killer inside turn on the rollback two jumps later。 No choice but to go inside if they’re here to win。 And Becky sure isn’t here to finish second。

How could anyone go faster than this?

No one can。 Except the rider who’s up next。。。

I will start with the fact that I am completely unsure why this book is called The HorsewomAn and not The HorsewomEn。 It absolutely should be the latter。 This story is compulsively readable and I went through it quickly as I could not put it down。 Several twists, some more predictable than others。 The characters were layered and interesting。 I was not overly impressed with the writing overall - it was somewhat choppy and simplistic。 I would have appreciated more description in several places。 I I will start with the fact that I am completely unsure why this book is called The HorsewomAn and not The HorsewomEn。 It absolutely should be the latter。 This story is compulsively readable and I went through it quickly as I could not put it down。 Several twists, some more predictable than others。 The characters were layered and interesting。 I was not overly impressed with the writing overall - it was somewhat choppy and simplistic。 I would have appreciated more description in several places。 I will also say as a former equestrian - books about riding are tricky for me sometimes as they don’t always get the technical parts right。 This book did a decent job, but there were still areas an equestrian might have made corrections。 。。。more

Thank you NetGalley, James Patterson and Little, Brown and Company for the book The Horsewoman。 This is my personal review。Mother and daughter relationship is the very soul of this story。 The story revolves around the two and their hopes and dreams of getting to participate in the Olympics。There is so much packed into the pages of this book。 The authors did a wonderful job of getting me involved with what goes on in the world horse competitions。 I look forward to more from this writing duo。

There is something about a James Patterson book and whoever he co authors with that tells you , you are in for a great read。The Horsewoman is no exception。There is family tension, there is family love and loyalty and family competitiveness that keeps those pages turning and the lights on for one more chapter。Maggie and Bess are competing first of all to go the Olympics and then if they make it will one of them win gold?I cheered with the ladies , I cringed during the races and I held my breath a There is something about a James Patterson book and whoever he co authors with that tells you , you are in for a great read。The Horsewoman is no exception。There is family tension, there is family love and loyalty and family competitiveness that keeps those pages turning and the lights on for one more chapter。Maggie and Bess are competing first of all to go the Olympics and then if they make it will one of them win gold?I cheered with the ladies , I cringed during the races and I held my breath as they flew around the ring。You can't go wrong with a James Patterson book for entertainment and a face paced read。I will be sure to check out Mike Lupica books as well。Thanks to NetGalley and Little Brown and Company for a roller coaster of a read。 。。。more

I have been a fan of James Patterson for many many years have read over 120 of his novels。 The first was Along Gave a Spider back in 1993。 It was the first in the Alex Cross series ~ now up to Book #29。I haven’t been a big fan of the co-author novels。 Have to admit some are good。 In this case teaming up Hall of Fame sports columnist Mike Lupica; who has written sixteen novels and his daughter is a competitive rider, worked for this novel。 Story is about mother Maggie Atwood and her twenty-one y I have been a fan of James Patterson for many many years have read over 120 of his novels。 The first was Along Gave a Spider back in 1993。 It was the first in the Alex Cross series ~ now up to Book #29。I haven’t been a big fan of the co-author novels。 Have to admit some are good。 In this case teaming up Hall of Fame sports columnist Mike Lupica; who has written sixteen novels and his daughter is a competitive rider, worked for this novel。 Story is about mother Maggie Atwood and her twenty-one year old daughter Becky McCabe as well as their horses Coronado and Sky。 As they are all have their eyes on the Paris Olympics。I am not a horsewoman so although the story was interesting it was a bit slow。I always think of horse as beautiful animals and they are but I never realized how dangerous riding is for both the rider and the horse。Want to thank NetGalley and Little Brown and Company for this eGalley。 This file has been made available to me before publication in an early form for an honest professional review。 Publishing Release Date scheduled for January 10, 2022 。。。more

This is a Contemporary。 This book has a lot of Horses and family drama。 I really loved all the horse stuff in this book。 The characters had a lot going on。 This book has a lot going with the characters, but it was done very well so I had no problem following everything that was going on。 I really loved every minute I spend reading this book。 I was kindly provided an e-copy of this book by the publisher (Little, Brown and Company) or author (James Patterson) via NetGalley, so I can give an honest This is a Contemporary。 This book has a lot of Horses and family drama。 I really loved all the horse stuff in this book。 The characters had a lot going on。 This book has a lot going with the characters, but it was done very well so I had no problem following everything that was going on。 I really loved every minute I spend reading this book。 I was kindly provided an e-copy of this book by the publisher (Little, Brown and Company) or author (James Patterson) via NetGalley, so I can give an honest review about how I feel about this book。 I want to send a big Thank you to them for that。 This book is schedule to be release on January 10-2022。 。。。more

My first James Patterson book approval, i spent my entire Sunday reading this book, it was so good and definetly not a normal JP book, i seriously enjoyed this story, the family history, the mother daughter relationships especially。 There were so many things i liked about this book, the slow build of relationships, the jerk guy who thought he knew it all but didnt, what true friends do for each other, it was just a great book about family, relationships and going for your dreams。 The best part w My first James Patterson book approval, i spent my entire Sunday reading this book, it was so good and definetly not a normal JP book, i seriously enjoyed this story, the family history, the mother daughter relationships especially。 There were so many things i liked about this book, the slow build of relationships, the jerk guy who thought he knew it all but didnt, what true friends do for each other, it was just a great book about family, relationships and going for your dreams。 The best part was that some of it actually took place in my home state of Ky, loved that aspect of it。 Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for this Arc。 。。。more
